Leverage Wireless Scanner Technology and Improve Efficiency
Posted by: Unknown on Monday, May 23, 2011 at 9:29:05 am
Do you capture material weight during your manufacturing process? Do you use barcodes? Have you considered the benefits you would gain by streamlining these processes into a single production step? Have you considered integrating your scale system and your barcode scanner?
We have noticed that many of our clients weigh materials at one point in the manufacturing process only to scan the material barcode later to capture additional information. Capturing material data is essential, but you should minimize anything that slows down - or stops - a manufacturing process.
If you are still using a corded barcode scanner, now would be a good time to also consider the benefits of using a wireless device. With the variety of wireless devices available today, you will recognize the power of efficient data collection without worrying about expensive cord repairs and the down time associated with them.
Tangent Labs can help you streamline your manufacturing process by integrating a wireless barcode scanner to your scale system at a single location. We can help you integrate a wireless scanner to your scale system into a streamlined manufacturing process. The data captured by the scale and the scanner will update your computer database simultaneously thereby making your overall process more efficient.
Now that we've got you thinking, let our experienced specialists assess your scale and barcode needs and identify the most efficient choices for you.
Is the kilo losing weight?
Posted by: Dustin on Friday, April 22, 2011 at 12:35:03 pm
The calibration experts at Tangent came across this very interesting article. The kilo is still defined by a man-made artifact — in this case a cylinder of metal made up of 90% platinum and 10% iridium that’s 1.54212598 inches high by 1.54212598 inches in diameter. Which, by definition, weighs exactly one kilo. The global standards are housed in SÈVRES, France. What's interesting is these standards have been diverging......

Go Online!
Posted by: Tom on Friday, October 15, 2010 at 2:19:55 pm
We just had a client get caught in the middle of an audit missing their calibration certificates. Unfortunately, they had no choice but to incur the cost to have their certs reprinted. Had they enrolled in our online calibration management database, they could have accessed those records at their convenience and done so free of charge. It free to get set up online and easy to use. Give us a call to take it for a test drive.
